Pagaie

This project was created to visualize a sculptural lighting piece inspired by pagaie, the French word for paddle, and the organic language of African design. The form references traditional handcraft and movement, expressed through elongated lines and smooth, grounded geometry.
We studied the cultural and material background in depth to shape an environment that complements the product’s essence. Terracotta tones, soft plaster textures, and gentle curves mirror the lamp’s silhouette, creating a cohesive spatial dialogue between architecture and object.

Every detail in the renderings was guided by balance and precision. Colour, composition, and proportion were refined to ensure the lamp remained the focal point while still feeling naturally integrated within the space. The lighting design and tonal range were developed to enhance its sculptural presence and authenticity.

The Details
Material accuracy and atmosphere were central to the process. By carefully controlling reflection, surface depth, and light diffusion, we created imagery that feels tactile and true to life, allowing the product to be experienced visually as it would be in reality.
